A message from our President

The Albany Choral Society will be bringing more delightful music to Albany on Friday 8th May at 7.30 pm and Saturday the 9th at 2.30pm of May, in Wesley Church, Duke St. We are again led by amazing conductor, Neville Talbot, who has experience both as an opera singer and as conductor of orchestras and bands. The programme is varied, covering different genres of music and will introduce a new work composed by Albany’s own Sebastian Harris as well as other Australian composers like Sally Whitwell and with a selection of Australian songs. There will be a multicultural element with Latin American music plus heart tugging works such as Shackleton, about the Antarctic explorer.

Neville encourages young people in their music journey and the choir will be accompanied by a youth orchestra, which aligns with the choir’s aims of encouraging youthful musicians. This should be an exciting concert and one not to be missed.
